What this Test measures

Advanced STD Panel

The STI Panels contain the assays and controls for a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acids from Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, and Mycoplasma genitalium in urine specimens from individuals suspected of sexually transmitted infections.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a common STD that is caused by bacteria. It may go undiagnosed as many people don’t have signs or symptoms, such as genital pain and discharge from the vagina or penis.  Chlamydia is more common among young women, but it can occur in both men and women of all ages.

Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is an STD that can cause infection in the genitals, rectum, and throat. It is very common, especially among teens and young adults.  Gonorrhea often has no symptoms.

Trichomonas Vaginalis ("trich")

Trichomonas Vaginalis (or “trich”) is a common, treatable STD.  Though symptoms vary, most people (70%) who have trich cannot tell they have it.

Mycoplasma Genitalium ("MG")

Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) with many of the hallmarks of its better-known counterpart, chlamydia. MG can infect the cervix (opening to the uterus), inside the penis (the urethra), or the rectum and often presents without symptoms.

Questions? We Have Answers.

Why should you get an STD test?
Getting tested is important because you can have an STD without knowing it. In many cases, there aren’t any symptoms. If you’re sexually active, you should be tested for STDs at least once a year. If you have more than one partner, share intravenous needles, or don’t always use a condom each time you have intercourse, you should be tested every three to six months.
How will my At Home Kit be delivered?

Your package will be sent using a discreet Fedex shipping label, no test name or visual indicators will be on the exterior of the kit, so your test is private to you.

Will my results be confidential?

Your results will be delivered to you through our HIPAA secure patient portal that only you can access.

Can I share my results with my healthcare provider?

Your results can be easily shared with your healthcare provider, and in fact, we encourage you to share your data in order to obtain the treatment you might need.  Contact us for a network of healthcare providers that can provide you with the treatment you may need.

How long should I wait to get tested for STDS?

It can take up to three months for HIV to be detected, but it only takes a matter of days to a few weeks for STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, Trichomonas Vaginalis (or “trich”) and syphilis to show up.
