Collected through a finger-prick sample collection method, this test is processed in our lab and resulted within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.  This test received a CE-Mark for having both 100% sensitivity and specificity. Developed by Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, this total antibody test indicates if someone is positive or negative for antibodies. A positive reaction indicates a high likelihood that an individual had or has COVID-19 and developed an antibody response to the virus. A negative reaction indicates that an individual has either not been infected or is in the very early stages of infection, before antibodies or symptoms have developed.

Our total antibody test is a very useful tool in helping an individual determine if they have developed antibodies after a vaccination.  Why?  Most antibody tests on the market only detect antibodies developed against the N-protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  The problem is that none of the vaccines in the US trigger antibodies against the N-protein of the virus, instead, they trigger antibodies against the S-protein of the virus.  So simply put, a person may have developed antibodies after their vaccine but most antibody tests will still say that the person does not have protective antibodies. Our test, on the other hand, detects antibodies produced against the S-protein of the Sars-CoV-2 virus. Again, this is important because vaccines only trigger an antibody response against the S-protein.  Our test will tell you if you have produced antibodies in response to a vaccine or from a previous infection.
