How do I pay with my HSA or FSA card?

Simply enter your HSA/FSA debit card number at checkout like any other credit or debit card. If your plan supports medical merchants (MCC 8099), your transaction will process automatically.

What if my HSA/FSA card is declined?

Some plans have different rules. If your card is declined, just use another payment method and submit your receipt to your plan administrator for manual reimbursement.

Do I need a doctor’s order or Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

For most diagnostic tests—like diabetes, thyroid, heart, or hormone panels—no.
Some plans may require an LMN for wellness or nutrient tests. You can [download our LMN template] to have your provider sign if needed.

Are all test kits eligible?

Not all. Tests focused purely on general wellness or performance optimization may not qualify under IRS §213(d). Eligible tests are clearly labeled “HSA/FSA Eligible” on their product pages.

Will I get a receipt for reimbursement?

Yes. You’ll automatically receive an itemized receipt that includes the test name, purchase date, and amount—everything your plan administrator needs for reimbursement.

Do you report my HSA/FSA purchases to the IRS?

No. You keep your own receipts and handle any plan or IRS reporting. We simply process your payment.

Can I split payment between my HSA/FSA card and another card?

Yes, if your HSA/FSA balance doesn’t cover the full amount. Complete checkout with both cards in separate transactions.

How should I store my receipts?

Keep your receipt and test results in your My Labs Direct account (or download them) for at least seven years, in case your plan requests documentation.
